There's a deck challenge here (it's at the bottom) that will help me combine my joint loves of Magic and rock and roll bands. I just spent some time writing down the titles of every U2 song and the titles that I know of Beatles songs (I still need to get all their CD's). I'm going to scan MagictheGathering.com for some good matches to certain songs. This is going to be some fun.

I'll probably post it here later.

For Dan, 'cause he always said that I'd be a stoner:

My decks are coming around Ok. The Beatles deck is tougher to find cards that match since their titles aren't as descriptive. It's probably going to be blue, but I can't find any ocean/sea/island titles unless you count "Yellow Submarine". My U2 deck is probably going to be white/blue with a lot of sweeping destruction.

Some favorite card matches that probably won't end up in the final decks

U2
Lightning bolt (Electrical Storm)
Animate Dead and the like (Wake Up, Dead Man)
Phantom Tiger (A Cat Dubh)
Spinal Embrace (Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me) <--- Personal favorite

Beatles
Sootfeather flock (Blackbird)
Killer Bees (Wild Honey Pie)
Phage (Devil In her Heart)

My U2 deck is done. Yipee! I am quite pleased with how it turned out.

Until the End of the World (click me!) )

I also have a semi-decent version of my Beatles deck as well:

And Your Bird Can Sing (click me!) )
The connections were tough, but I still had fun. Plus I'm proud of some of these. My best one was Spinal Embrace (see previous entry). It fits perfectly, plus it's only understood by people who know the card. Propaganda was a bit of a stretch, but it works in its own little world.
