Well, it only took four years, but there is now a first (very bad) draft of Sheppard's Eleven.

1. I head back to school tomorrow, and I'm kind of ambivalent about it, which is probably bad. I don't know. I'm not cut out for this 'real life' bullshit.
2. As for the last episode of SGA, I am firmly of the belief that they fly the city right back using the wormhole drive, and John thinks it's the COOLEST THING EVER and has a big(ger) crush on Rodney's brain.
I'm not that sad about it, really. SGA is dead. Long live SGA*.

3. I have plotted out the scenes for the heist and started writing them out, though I can already tell that this will probably take a while. Anyway, enjoy this bit of fic:

Okay, so I'm considering first cleaning up the first section of the fic and posting that as part of WIP. Obviously, this has some benefits and some drawbacks.
On one hand polishing and posting section will give me a break from the fic-writing and also some real, tangible feedback to bask in as well as actual pressure to finish it without sort of just giving up which I have been tempted to do on and off for a while.
On the other, I know for a fact that I won't be able to give my full attention to fixing up this section, because half my brain will still be in writing mode, and I know that I won't go back and fix things later because once something's posted, it tends to be 'done' in my mind as well. So it won't be as good as it could be.
I dunno. I just keep going back and forth on that.
4. In other news, all my fic has been posted to AOOO. All, um, 99 stories I'm willing to admit I've written.
5. I don't think I'll ever get over just how much I adore The Sandman. Ever.
6. New BSG is coming, and while I will attempt to enjoy it, I fear that it will repeat all of the crappiness of 4.0. Just as long as they stop pretending that dangling the final cylon in front of us is a substitute for compelling plot, then I will survive. (It seems as though there will be more Zarek, this time around. I can't wait to watch him stir shit up.)

destina. It's just a stunning ode to the U.S. space program, and it's about human yearning and human struggle and human sacrifice. I used to have a poster of a space shuttle hanging over my bed, no joke, and I wanted to work for NASA, and this reminded me of why. Seriously, go watch it.
2. Saw Across the Universe, finally. It was about what I expected. The musical sequences were pretty good. The stuff in between was not so much. The story was hacked together badly, and it seemed to be ripping off Rent a bit too much. In order for it to be successful, I think it would need to distance itself from the Beatles mythos, and it didn't.
3. I have spiffied up my laptop, just in time for me to not use it so much during the school year. Whoops.
4. The US seems to be failuring during these closing days of the Olympics. Except for the women's soccer team. They're still badass.
5. I am not very surprised by the cancellation of SGA, and its subsequent transformation into a direct-to-DVD movie series. It's probably (a) cheaper and (b) more lucrative for MGM, and SG-1's already done it.

House/McKay is OTP, bitches.
Okay, I don't think they'd like each other at first. In fact, they'd kind of hate each other. House is a medical doctor. Rodney is an incredibly annoying physicist.Together, they fight crime! There is no way their first meeting could go well. Especially when they start trying to one up each other on how smart they are, and Rodney starts insulting medicine by calling it a soft science and House starts insulting Rodney's mother because Rodney's third shoelace is loose or something.
But I think once they got over that point (though, knowing them, it would be a while), House would find Rodney's complete and utter lack of tact charming, and Rodney would admire House's ability to destroy the egos of the idiotic. Plus, Rodney would make House a really badass cane and House could translate some of Zelenka's more colorful phrases for Rodney to understand. The world would tremble in fear.
Of course, Wilson and John would be off to the side, sulking about how they're prettier. And quite possibly making out because it would be hot.
Also, I'm kind of in love with all of the people inbetteronvicodin who are way awesome. I am totally psyched about this fest.
