Okay, I don't even know, but it is terrifyingly awesome.

William Shatner reads Sarah Palin's farewell speech

With a title like that, how can you resist?

So, I don't talk about politics here, much, as I am pretty ambivalent about the current Democratic primary showdown.

But The Onion is really fucking hilarious.

So I wrote a quick thing for the House/Wilson Kissing Meme. I think it would be awesome if more people participated.

Also, you should watch this video. It is quite interesting and informative.

This is like the funniest thing ever, if you're a Dylan fan, at least:

No Direction, Period )

I've watched it like five times and it hasn't actually gotten any less funny, which is kind of amazing.

A highly accurate graph.

I should be working on my CS project right now, but I really don't want to and I have another midterm on Monday. Which is one day before said project is due. I'm still in the "slow, dawning dread" stage at the moment.

Also, I've decided that I want to write 50,000 words this year of fic. Last year, I only managed to get somewhere less than 30,000. I think. And this year, I have about 12,000 posted at the moment, with other stuff in other stages of progress. But! It's not enough, so I kind of want ideas.

The "Tell me what to create meme" was like forever ago, but since I would love some inspiration and input, if anyone wants to leave me some sort comment about something they'd like to see me write, leave me a comment. Anonymous commenting is, in fact, on.

God Hates Shrimp - because the bible said so, dammit!

Joga.com Companion - a Firefox extension for keeping up with the World Cup, which is (oddly enough) partially developed by Mozilla itself. I'm personally not following the World Cup myself, but I know several people on my flist are, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] kennedykennedy, Tales from the Bully Pulpit - Scans from a comic in which Teddy Roosevelt and the ghost of Thomas Edison travel to the future (2008) to battle a descendent of Hitler. Yeah, it's good crack, yo.

For the nerdier: XAMPP is a really nifty, quick to set up Apache (with MySQL, PHP and Perl) server that you can use to play around with, I don't know, a local install of Wordpress or something. I haven't used it for anything yet, but I can see that it will definitely be cool to use if I want to play around with CMSes.

It amuses me greatly that when I type "cas" in OpenOffice Writer, it fills in "tration" for me.

Yes, I am about five.

Mashups! Score. I love these things.

I'm digging The Colbert Report. Not a perfect show, not by most means, but it's still pretty good. I am also still amused by the fact Comedy Central could conceivably have a "news headquarters".

Also, there's a speaker coming to talk about George Lucas and Lucasfilm and ILM and stuff like that. I need to remember to go to that. I did a report on George Lucas in 9th grade. It kind of sucked, but I did it and I want to check it out.

My roommate is sick, which means I'll have to be extra careful if I don't want to end up taking my Econ midterm with a cold. Speaking of my Econ midterm, I'm still certain I'm going to fail. Yup.

Jack Thompson is quite the moron. He's one of those crazy Bible-thumpers that believes that video games are pure evil or some other bullshit. There was this whole wank that went down between him and Penny Arcade or somesuch but that's not the point.

The point is: Don't let the video games touch you in your bathing suit area.

Please, take this to heart.

Dear Christopher Nolan,

Enclosed is one (1) coupon redeemable for my first born child. You are so awesome omg.

Love,

How psyched am I for the Batman Begins sequel that won't be out for a very long time? A lot, to say the least.

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] merriman

1. Go to my fic and pick a line from a fic. And it should be good. Not like, "Remus says." or something like that, k?

2. Post the line here and I'll try to guess which of my fics it's from.

3. If you stump me, I'll write you a drabble.

Having one of my self-loathing writer moments. Do you have any idea how depressing having detailed stats of hit counts can be at times? 'Scuse me while I go stick my head in a bucket. Also, if I ever say I want to write something long and plotty again, smack me. Really hard.

Oh, and this f_w comment pwns all.

The Onion Horoscopes own me:

Virgo (August 23 - September 22): You just thought it was a cool
design, but people will soon inform you that the guy on your T-shirt
was some Argentinean nutjob named Shea or something.

Hee.

Anyone willing to beta I Might Be Wrong? Please? I want as many opinions as I can possibly get for this sucker. I might ask in [livejournal.com profile] hughesxroy, depending on the response I get here.

ETA: I also want to do a Hughes/Roy ficathon. Maybe.
