I saw that the AV Club was writing ep-by-ep reviews for season 1 of Friday Night Lights, and I was blindsided by ALL THE FEELINGS. I started rereading my old SGA/FNL fusion fic while listening to the playlist I listened to while I was writing it, because it's one of those stories that I'll always be proud of, and it's actually been long enough that there are surprises when I read it again.
Matt Saracen is still one of my favoritest characters ever.
The weather was also gorgeous outside today, so I went for a long walk. I may have gotten slightly sunburned. Whoops. I'll just have to remember to put on sunscreen tomorrow. I also purchased a new messenger bag, because I managed to push the button on something that I was nervous of doing. I apparently get myself to accomplish things through bribery. This is surprisingly effective. Also, now I have two bike messenger bags that are far too cool for me, but I don't even care.
merisunshine36 insists that the only way for me to fix this is to buy a bike, but I'd be terrible at owning a bike. I'd be even more terrible at riding it inside a city.
Writing is continuing slowly but surely. I've only gotten another 600 words since I last posted here about it, but I think that's okay. I can't stampede through it the way I can when I have a better sense of where the story is going, and I think that's okay. I want it to feel slow, drawn out, and careful. Hopefully that does come across.
