More Notes: Okay, so I kind of really liked Slumdog Millionaire, because it's beautiful and wonderfully acted and full of this wonderful energy, but at the same time, I had problems with it on a few levels. The treatment of Latika is one of them.

When we meet her, she's tough and funny and full of personality, but then she gets left behind, and when we see her again, she's learned her place. She's there to be beautiful and controlled and desired, not to be a person, not to have any agency outside of Jamal's. That bothered me a lot while watching the movie. This is my attempt to give her some of that back.

I don't want to impose my own reading on this vid, so I won't say more about that. I will talk, however, about how exciting it is to be figuring this whole vidding thing out! Getting the beats and images to match is just REALLY COOL. I do recommend getting the AVI over the Imeem by quite a bit, because Imeem's quality seems to have been dropping quite a bit lately.
