On Criticism
I'll own up to it. Criticism of any form hurts. From the flames straight down to the gentlest of the gentle concrit. It hurts.
But that doesn't mean I don't need it.
It hurts because I want to believe that I'm the bestest writer in the whole world omg and that's just not true. I know it's not true, but part of me wants to believe it. That's where the criticism comes in. It reminds me of that, because I need to keep my ego in check, pull my head out of my ass. Writers need that. Fandom needs that. Because fandom isn't about you. It isn't about me. And it sure as hell isn't around to stroke your ego.
If you can't handle that, you should probably find some other way to spend your time. Seriously.
