The Clash
On the topic of influential British bands, there's the Clash. Not as popular or quite as influential as the Beatles that goes without saying, but still one of the first and best British punk bands. They joined with the Sex Pistols on their first tour, and they - get this - actually knew how to play their instruments. I know, shocking. London Calling is considered their best album, but Combat Rock, their biggest success, gave us my personal favorite song "Rock the Casbah". In December, Joe Strummer died. Hats off to you guys.
The reason I'm talking about this is that I bought the Clash DVD Westway to the World(scroll down see info on this specific DVD). I haven't watched it at all yet, since Anthology has been eating my time. You try watching a 10 hour documentary.
