why you too should hate Silver Lings Playbook

merisunshine36 wrote a review of Silver Linings Playbook that reminds me of all the reasons why I couldn't finish watching it because it made me so angry. It's pretending to be deeper and edgier and more thoughtful than your average romcom, but really it's all about how terrible it is to be a guy who nearly kills another guy in a jealous rage and is in the process of stalking and harassing his ex-wife. Why shouldn't a guy like that find love with Jennifer Lawrence again? (On the other hand, Jennifer Lawrence convinces him to join a ballroom dance competition with her by promising him that she'll take a letter to said ex-wife that he's stalking while knowing that he's obsessively stalking his ex-wife, so maybe they really do deserve each other.)

Seriously, fuck everything about that movie.
