I do think the Myth of Genius and Fantasy of Single Invention are very much symptoms of the same disease, and yeah, we tend to not acknowledge the previous work and social forces that go into making that Single Invention possible. And also, there are tons of social forces work that get to decide which creators of these inventions get remembered, and that's a whole 'nother kettle of worms.
